Sleeper picks NFL draft

Every year, there are players not talked about a lot in the draft that make a big impact on the team they are drafted to. There are always players I watch during college football season that I think won't measure well or test well, but they are simply good at football. Sometimes the measurements and analytics just don't matter if someone is that good at what they do. On the other hand, some players are projects, and they take years to reach their full potential, so it is always a tough choice. In this blog, I will be going through two of the players I don't think get talked about a lot, but they could make a big impact on a team.

To start, Mike Green from Marshall has the potential to be incredibly good in the NFL. He measures pretty poorly at a small 6"3 251. This is undersized for an NFL defensive end, but he is so quick and explosive that it could not affect him much in the NFL. This will make it hard for him to effectively stop the run and fill gaps, but the upside from his pass rush could be incredible. Not many people are talking about him (probably because he played for Marshall), but if he falls to the right team, he could make an immediate impact on the pass rush. Green would be a great fit for Chicago or any other team that needs to boost their pass rush. I see him going in the mid to late first round, but he could fall even further.

The next player that comes to mind for me is Nick Nash out of San Jose State. I remember watching him play and thinking he looked very smooth with his routes, and he was going up and mossing defenders almost every drive. I later found out that was only his first year at wide receiver! In his first year playing receiver full time, he had over 1300 yards and 16 touchdowns. Some people will say he played for San Jose State and that he won't translate against NFL corners, but I don't think that is correct. He is a little skinny, right now, but he is 6"3 and already a great athlete. He is the best at going up and getting a 50/50 ball, but that is the kind of player many teams are looking for. I see him getting picked in rounds 3-5, but I think he could be a weapon this year.
