Panthers and Saints on the Clock

The Panthers had a promising season. Bryce Young took giant steps, which is a huge huge plus for the organization. The Panthers either need to build around Bryce Young, or take a defensive player. If the Panthers want to build around Bryce Young, they need to trade down later into the 1st and take either Emeke Ebuka or Luther Burden. BUT, the defense needs so much help, they need to take a defensive player. I think there are a couple of different ways the Panthers can get this draft right, but it will take a mix of offensive and defensive players. This is why Mason Graham is the best pick for the Panthers. He is a day 1 impact starter, and the Panthers still have more picks in the draft. Graham was a monster at Michigan, and would probably be the Panthers' best tackle on day 1. Taking Mason Graham with their first pick would allow them to focus on offensive weapons for Bryce Young. I would trade up a bit with their second-round pick, trying to ensure they get a good wide receiver....

What to do with the Raiders and Jets

The Raiders are in a decent spot for the future. They have lots of money as an organization, a great offensive weapon in Brock Bowers, and a great defensive weapon in Maxx Crosby. Their biggest need is without a doubt quarterback. They cannot have Aidan O' Connell under center to start next year. This is why it is a good idea for the Raiders to go with Shedeur Sanders. If Denzel Ward is available, they should draft him, but I don't see that happening.  Sanders is a decent quarterback prospect, who would fit in with the culture in Las Vegas. It is tough to really know how good Sanders is, playing a horrible schedule at Colorado, while also having Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter to throw to. He has shown he has plenty of arm talent, which is a must in today's NFL. His biggest criticism is his ability to get through his reads quickly. The Raiders don't have a great offensive line, so this could be a concern. Nonetheless, I don't see a better opportunity for the Raider...

Patriots and Jaguars on the Clock

The Patriots are organizationally in a good spot right now. It may not seem that way because of the brutal season they had, but they have close to all of the pieces to field a competitive team. Drake Maye surprised me with his level of play, and he made it clear New England should build around him. With that being said, I think it makes the most sense for the Patriots to try to trade down (preferably with the Panthers at #8) and try to get more picks, while also sneaking out with Tetairoa McMillan. The best thing for this Patriots team would be to get an elite weapon to help with Drake Maye's development, and it looks like McMillan has all of the tools. I will say, McMillan's draft stock relies very heavily upon his combine performance, but I think he will test well. He may not be as fast as some of the other WR's taken in the first round, but his 6'5 frame and change of direction should overcome that. If the Patriots decide to take a defensive player (which could happ...

What Picks 2 and 3 Should Do In the NFL Draft

The second pick of the NFL draft is held by the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are in need of a quarterback, but drafting one in this draft would not do any good; the rest of the team is bad. Myles Garett just requested a trade, so this could mean even more draft capital for the Browns. Regardless of whether Garett gets traded, I believe the best thing for this team is taking Travis Hunter.  I don't think Hunter is an elite NFL wide receiver, but he could make an immediate impact at cornerback. He could still be productive as a wide receiver, but it isn't feasible for a player to play both ways in today's NFL. The pairing of Travis Hunter and Denzel Ward would set Brown's secondary for years to come. The Browns will not be very good next year, so adding premier positions now in the draft is the best move for them. The Browns will have the option of signing a quarterback in free agency, but they are still currently hindered by the contract of Deshaun Watson. The third pick...
