Thoughts on the draft
Well, there were some surprises in the draft, and also some things anyone could see coming. Cam Ward ended up going number 1. Shadeur Sanders ended up getting drafted in the fifth round. I was not the biggest fan of Shadeur coming out of Colorado, but I think he is better than a lot of quarterbacks who got drafted before him. I think it's less on him as a player, and more on teams not wanting to deal with Deon. The Bears ended up having a great draft. I am a big fan of picking Colston Loveland at pick #10, even though many are saying it was a reach. I understand Tyler Warren may have been better in college, but Ben Johnson is looking for a Sam Laporta-type player. Not only that, but picking up Luther Burden in the second round is an absolute steal. He was a lock top ten pick if he had been able to declare for the draft last year, and I'm glad he fell to the Bears. The only player I thought they would've gone for is Mike Greene.
